Our approach combines health education and neurobiological reprogramming (ie behavior change coaching). It may include mindfulness-based therapies e.g. transformative walking, taijiquan (tai chi) and restorative or medical qigong (Chi gong).


Our Step-by-Step Process
I. To ensure patients are successful in achieving and sustaining their health goals - and autonomously maintaining and growing their gains - we meet regularly in person, by phone, and/or video until you feel solid in the new. How long does a client and coach work together?
In the first meeting, we clarify your health goals, identifying the most supportive education, physical and thinking habits for getting there.
II. Each week we point our willpower towards these Habits, until step-by-solid-step - they become the new ground.

Habits may include anything from spending more time in nature, growing community + improving the consistency of eating routines.
They may also include routines ensuring deeper sleep, more nourishing movement; self-care incorporated into the work day; life hacks such as meal prep (ie both the practice of it, and the simple keys to preparing Nutritious, Delicious, and Easy-to-make Food).


Most modern health coaching is rooted solely in the Wisdom of Western Science. Under the time-tested Five Elements or Five Phase (Wu Shing) model, I synthesize over fourteen years of training in Eastern and Western Health Sciences, offering a more holistic approach to helping you achieving peak wellness, and/or support You in resolving dis-ease.
*Coaching is available over video (zoom), phone, or in person.**As we see fit, we may integrate coaching (progressive lifestyle change counseling) into other therapy services such as manual alignment (massage) or mindfulness-based movement. To intentionally integrate these, schedule a "traditional office visit" or "recommended 1st visit".

Essentially, we find the smallest changes for the greatest impact, incorporating more as each prior step is solid.
Coaching Includes:
✅ Mapping Out the Way: Goal Session (140 min)
Here we get laser clear on your top health goals, framing them in the way that makes them as easy as possible to achieve.
We assess relevant health systems and history: everything related to health and to achieving your goal. We develop a plan for achieving your goal, complete with strategies and tentative timelines. We fine-tune the most important steps. You go home with a focus. We grow from there.
✅ Twice-Monthly Motivation Calls or In-Person Visits (90+ min)
Based on what is individually effective, these calls may be split (e.g. multiple weekly calls such as 20 minutes twice/wk, or 50 minutes once/wk).
You get to enjoy yourself while we celebrate your progress. We help you bust through barriers, - with grace, wisdom, courage and power. These visits help us fine-tune the actions and support you in embodying them. These ensure you stay focused long enough for the new change to become habit.
✅ Twice-Weekly
Engagement Checks (A short text helping You stay true to your Aims, When we'll be available for Optional Engagement Calls). Email responses or support may take the place of these ECs.
Packages
Available in 1 month, 3 mo., 6 month, and 12 mo Programs.
Typically, it takes several months or more for new habits to start "setting,". For that reason, we recommend at least a three month commitment, with six or more as an ideal for genuine sustaining change.

Health coaching may be billed on a per-appointment basis, a monthly subscription, or as multi-month packages. The last option - if possible - is the most beneficial, saving both time and money.
As a monthly program, which includes (2) x 90+ min follow up visits and (2) weekly customized engagement checks (ECs), our monthly rate is $499.

*Although our rates are subject to change as our practice grows, Clients will be kept at the same rate they start at, for a year or more.
**If it's more effective for the individual, the follow up may be split into shorter, weekly or biweekly visits.
It is typical to work with a health coach at minimum for 5-6 months as that is the amount of time it takes to implement, troubleshoot, and solidify new habits. You may read more about the process of change here.
e.g. A habit as simple as drinking more water - can make a profound difference over time.
Still, making it a habit can have a lot of nuance, for many reasons - if only that someone has lived their entire life drinking an inadequate amount of water.

As they are able to adopt and make second nature new habits, if they should choose to continue their health journey with us, we will help them continue to add new habits that optimize their whole (at least until we have nothing left to teach; or develop the opinion that what has been taught is enough, for now). This takes more time; and can unfold as a deepening richness of Health over years.
It took a lifetime to acquire the habits that are no longer working; so it makes sense that overcoming and shifting them also takes time. Change has to work itself through the mind-brain, heart-emotions, hormones-blood chemistry, and ultimately the body.
Some patients may need to work with a coach for a year or longer.
